You never said "I'm leaving," You never said "Goodbye," You were gone before I knew it, and only god knew why. A million times I needed you, A million times I cried, if love alone could save you, you never would have died. In life I loved you dearly, in death I love you still, in my heart you hold a place, that no one could ever fill. It broke my heart to lose you, but you didn't go alone, for a part of me went with you, the day God took you home
I love you Bud!
Thoughts of Tony / Mom
Thanks to Patti Wilson who sent me the email with the following phrase that immediately made me smile thinking of Tony smiling down on us all!
"When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling.
Live your life so that when you die, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying. "

27 years is not long enough / Mom There is not a day goes by that my eyes don't well up with tears just thinking of my son. I love him so much! Talking with a friend recently she said that maybe in 27 years, it won't hurt so bad. And think about it, we had Tony in our lives everyday for 27 years and then he was gone.... in a split second! So it will probably take that long just to get to the point where our hearts aren't so heavy with the pain.
Angel in Disguise / Mom Little boy I love you about as much as one can love another In fact it was my only consolation that now you know how much I loved you
I could not begin to count the many ways you filled our life with laughter Old enough to bring us such great joy but young enough that no dark sorrow crossed your brow It makes the anguish deeper now
And when I walk the streets at night or sit by the fire's dying light or when I'm watching for the dawn I can almost touch you
There are times when I look up then I see you standing there before me The thing I always notice is your smile and all the light that's in your eyes
Were you an angel in disguise?
And when I walk the streets at night or sit by the fire's dying light or when I'm watching for the dawn I can hear you clearly saying
I am always with you I am always by your side I am always with you I'm everywhere you are.
This is a song written by Gregory Floyd who lost his 7 yr old son in an accident from the book "A Grief Unveiled":
The past and future.. / Debi (Mom) I found this saying the other day -
"When your parent dies - you've lost your past, but when your child dies - you've lost your future!"
Today is my dad's birthday and he has been gone since November 2003. We all have to deal with the death of a parent or grand parent at one time or another. Losing my dad was very, very hard but he had been sick for a number of years and his health declined rapidly. It is just the order of life, you love your parents and when they die you still love them and miss them. But you realize their time here is done and they've hopefully led a good, long life. But when your child dies, there is no meaning, no sense and no comforting you.
It seems we just go thru the motions to get thru the days. I feel like our lives have been turned upside down and inside out. Kim and I talk about the past, the present and future.... And just like the saying above, I truly believe we have lost our future! It really doesn't make any sense that my son is not here to share it with us. I get angry sometimes when I look around at others and ask why my son? What terrible thing did we do to deserve this?? I know tragedy affects families every day, you just never think about it, until it happens to you and it will be with us always!
changes/ Patti
with all the packing and moving happening, your girls are going through alot of changes. so many things to be boxed/moved. The most important item can not be boxed - your memory. even though alot of the physical reminders will be gone, the memories kimmy and m & m have of you will be surrounding them wherever they are. Let those memories help to fill the huge void in their hearts. Constantly have your arms wrapped around them. The decisions kimmys had to make have been really hard for her. She tries to be so strong. She misses you every minute of every day. Be with her always and continue to give her the strength she needs to raise M & M. I miss you.
Little Things in Life / Mom
Little Things In Life!
Too often we don't realize What we have until it is gone; Too often we wait too late to say "I'm sorry - I was wrong."
Sometimes it seems we hurt the ones We hold dearest to our hearts; And we allow foolish things To tear our lives apart.
Far too many times we let Unimportant things into our minds; And then it's usually too late To see what made us blind.
So be sure that you let people know How much they mean to you; Take that time to Say the words Before your time is through.
Be sure that you appreciate Everything you've got' And be thankful for the Little Things In Life that mean a lot....
My Deepest Condolences / Don Basquez (Cousin) While not really knowing Tony There Are Two Things that come to mind from the description of him. The first of those two things is a song by Faron Young ( Live Fast, Love Hard, Die young and Leave a beautiful Memory) These things he has done. The second is a poem ( Author Unknown) When I die I don't want to arrive at the grave with a perfect unscared body, But to arrive kicking, screaming with a scared and completely worn out body saying Thank you Lord for the beautiful Ride. To The rest of the Family I give you all of my love. Don
Passing on Tony's legacy / Linda Compton (Cousin) Now that I am gone, remember me with smiles and laughter. And if you need to cry, cry with your brother or sister who walks in grief beside you. And when you need me, put your arms around anyone and give to them what you need to give to me. There are so many who need so much. I want to leave you something -- something much better than words or sounds. Look for me in the people I've known or helped in some special way. Let me live in your heart as well as in your mind. You can love me most by letting your love reach out to our loved ones, by embracing them and living in their love. Love does not die, people do. So, when all that's left of me is love, give me away as best you can.
